CANCER AWARENESS

Raising awareness on cancer prevention and cure is at the centre of everything we do. We believe in the power of knowledge and strive to provide comprehensive information on the disease. Through camps and talks across the city, we look to empower people to take responsibility of their health. By increasing awareness, we can reach out to more people and help save more lives.

AWARENESS AND SCREENING FOR BREAST CANCER

We conduct camps to create awareness and detection of breast cancer.

1 in 22 women in India is likely to suffer from breast cancer during  her life time.

Women are at risk if she is above 40 years of age or has a family history of breast cancer. Breast cancer tumour is not painful. A woman does not feel any pain even if there is a    lump in her breast. Sometimes a lump is too small and cannot be detected. Even a normal healthy woman can have breast cancer lump. If it is detected early, breast cancer may be cured in initially stages itself. Breast cancer detection is done by FDA approved latest and advanced diagnostic tool – IBreast Exam for first-hand detection of abnormal growth in the body. IBreast Exam – detects change in stiffness of tissue by non-invasive and non-radiation, easy method which is very economical. In this technique, information related to   a woman is stored in the computer.

With the help of the software analysis, the machine can detect possibility of breast cancer in  future. Some women may have to take the help of mammography or sonography. Through these tests breast cancer lump can be detected. In case the   lump is not detected through these tests   further investigations can be done . I Breast Examination is  radiation free and a safe and painless procedure. If any suspected cases are detected, we send them for Mammography or Sonography .

N K Dhabhar Cancer Foundation will bear the cost and only Rs.100/- to be paid as registration fee at the centre.
