I was addicted to gutkha for ten years before being diagnosed with cancer of the buccal mucosa (a type of oral cancer) in the year 2010. Since then, I have relapsed twice, undergone four surgeries and two rounds of chemotherapy. It has been a difficult time for me and my family. I have 3 children – My son has mental health issues, one of my daughter is married, while the other committed suicide. Throughout this time I continued to work to meet the financial needs of my treatment and make ends meet for my family. My wife was forced to take a job. Each time I thought I was healed, the cancer returned.

Had it not been for the N K Dhabhar Cancer Foundation, I would have to weather the storm all by myself.
